Pete Jordi Wood is an illustrator, screenwriter and author from Cornwall, U.K. He is represented as a screenwriter by Giles Smart at United Agents and as an author by Caroline Michel at the Peters, Fraser & Dunlop agency.

Pete’s original writing credits include the Channel 4 single drama ‘I Don't Care’, screened as part of the network’s ‘Coming Up’ series, starring Iwan Rheon and Paloma Faith. Channel 4 nominated Pete for a BAFTA Craft award and ‘I Don’t Care’ is now distributed internationally by Peccadillo Pictures.
Pete has been a member of writersrooms for network shows including 'EastEnders' (BBC) and ‘Shameless’ (Channel 4).
Revisiting the world of carers from a Young Adult perspective, Pete’s play ‘Lifted’ was broadcast on BBC Radio 3 starring Chelsee Healey.
His plays have been shortlisted for the Nick Darke award, the Old Vic 12, Theatre Royal Stratford East’s Perfect Pitch and Soho Theatre’s Verity Bargate award. He was a 2016 recipient of the John Brabourne Award from the Film and Television Charity.
He recently earned his first Games/App writing credit for Playlingo.
FILM & TV: DEVELOPMENT
Pete specialises in story and script development for TV, Film and Games, primarily for Teen Drama formats for the 16-34 year old demographic and coming-of-age movies.
He has developed original TV drama formats for clients including Channel 4, E4, The Forge, Red Productions, Endor, Bandit, CBBC, BBC Three, Touchpaper Television and Company Pictures.
Pete is currently working on a commission to develop an original teen drama series for The Forge, with Beth Willis Exec Producing. He is also the co-creator (with Niki Rooney) of an original teen drama for Exec Producer Phillippa Giles at Bandit.
FILM & TV: PRODUCTION
Pete has over twenty years’ experience working behind the scenes in TV production since his first job as a runner on Granada’s Russell T Davies helmed drama ‘The Grand’ at the age of sixteen. He began his career as an intern in Film and TV production in London, Manchester and Los Angeles on shows including ‘The Ozone’ (BBC) and ‘Coronation Street’ (ITV). He earned his first professional art department credit for ‘Coming Up’ (Channel 4), crafting props and creating concept art. To date he has been employed by clients including Paul Abbott to help graphically design and illustrate TV and Film treatments during the development process.
FILM & TV: TEACHING
Pete has worked as a Visiting Lecturer at Falmouth University, teaching screenwriting and development to BA and MA Film and Television students.
He holds a BA (Hons) degree in Digital Animation, and is working towards an MA in Illustration: Authorial Practice, both from Falmouth University. He hopes to extend his current research into a Ph.D.
